The Toadstools
Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Utah
By RON LIZZI - GoOutsideBook.com
For those wanting to see some unusual sandstone formations without the
crowds of area national parks, consider a visit to
The Toadstools in Utah's
Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.
Begin at the
small parking area on US-89 in between Kanab and Big Water. The out-and-back hike is
1.6 miles (2.6 kilometers) round trip with an elevation gain of 100 feet (30 meters). The trail may be difficult to follow at times, so GPS is not a bad idea.
Here are seven photos of The Toadstools.
