Tolmie Peak Trail
Mount Rainier National Park, Washington
Here are seven photos from the Tolmie Peak Trail in Washington's Mount Rainier National Park.
On a clear day, this hike delivers outstanding views of Mount Rainier, which is 9 miles (14 kilometers) away.
Note that the Mowich Lake Road, which leads to the trailhead, is unpaved for the last 15+ miles. It may be suitable for a passenger car when it's in good condition. Check the park website for current conditions.
UPDATE: There is NO public access to Mowich Lake from SR 165, so the trailhead is unreachable. The SR 165 Carbon River/Fairfax Bridge (outside the park) is closed until further notice.
