Chauncey Peak Loop Trail in Autumn
Giuffrida Park, Meriden, Connnecticut
Here are nine photos from my October 30 hike of the Chauncey Peak Loop in Giuffrida Park, Meriden, CT, (Parking is here).
The Meriden Land Trust provides an excellent guide with a map and description of this hike and others. This hike, which is 2.7 miles with an elevation gain of 530 feet, is classified as "moderate." This trail was recently (~2017) rerouted to make the initial ascent more gradual. The first 0.2-mile stretch used to be quite steep and required a little scrambling. Other than the descent, which requires some care, the rest of the hike is easy.
