Hubbard Park in Autumn
Hubbard Park, Meriden, Connecticut
Having hiked in all 50 states while writing Go Outside and Come Back Better, I'm rarely wowed by the scenery in my home state of Connecticut. But I recently found one the best scenic views in the state, shown in the first photo below.
The first three photos below come from a hike to Berlin's South Mountain via the Metacomet Trail, while the other five were taken in Meriden's Hubbard Park, from overlooks on or near East Peak. The trails are described in the Hubbard Park Trail Map produced by the Meriden Land Trust. Other impressive but less natural views of Meriden and surrounding towns are available from these hikes.
These photos were taken on October 26, at the peak of fall foliage.
